Removal from Megan’s Law Website

One remedy that may be available to you is to get your information removed from the Megan’s Law and national Sex Offender websites while you wait to satisfy your registration requirement. There are 3 simple requirements:

1. You must have been granted probation and completed it “successfully,” meaning no probation violations that resulted in any additional time spent in custody.

2. You must have been the victim’s parent, step-parent (actually married, not simply living together), grandparent (step-grandparents do not count), or sibling (again, stepsiblings do not count).

3. No allegations made of oral copulation or penetration, both as to the charges of which you were convicted and the charges that may have been dismissed as part of the plea agreement. This is a critical point to understand. The Department of Justice does not take into consideration what you said happened or what you remember happening. They only accept the accusations that were made at the time as proven through the court records. So, even if charges of oral copulation were dismissed and the only conduct you
admitted was fondling, the application for exclusion will be denied.

The Law Office of Bruce Bridgman will work to get your court records to determine if you qualify for removal from the Megan’s Law Website and submit a strong application if you do. The Law Office of Bruce Bridgman has handled these applications for over 15 years since before the Megan’s Law website first went live and we have had hundreds of applications granted – the Law Office of Bruce Bridgman knows what it takes to submit a successful application for removal from the Megan’s Law Website.

Fees

The Law Office of Bruce Bridgman charges a flat fee of $2,500 for full service to process an application for removal from the Megan’s Law website. The Law Office of Bruce Bridgman will handle everything for you from obtaining the records necessary to get relief and confirm you qualify for removal before submitting the application to the Department of Justice, making any necessary court appearances, and following up to make sure the process is completed. Due to the complexity of this process, we do not offer an attorney-assisted, self-representation option for this service.

The Law Office of Bruce Bridgman has successfully removed hundreds of sex offenders from the Megan’s Law website, so we know how to prepare a successful application.
